Making progress is awesome.
Improving lab values.
Seeing success from our efforts is great.
What about those other times?
Those times of struggle.
When you’re not seeing the progress you want to see.
When you don’t want to put in the work.
When you’re having a crap workout and want to leave the gym.
When you’re over your eating habits and don’t want to prep the food.
When you’re feeling the FOMO and don’t want to go to bed.
When you get discouraged.
But you show up and do it anyway.
These days are gold.
These are the days to celebrate.
Often it’s the days when things aren’t going so well that are the most satisfying.
Grinding through something that’s not going as planned.
Looking back and saying “I didn’t want to but I did”.
Putting in the work.
Days like this, when we get to test ourselves, are a blessing.
The next time that you’re battling a craving.
The next time that you’re struggling through a workout.
That you’re frustrated with your progress.
The next time you don’t know if you can keep going.
The next time you want to quit.
Relish that struggle.
These are the days that bring success, and make that success so sweet.
You’ve got this.
