Christmas is a weird time for lots of us – myself included.
Some of us see it as a time to spend with friends and family.
Some of us see it as a time of loneliness.
Some of us see it as a time to exchange material possessions.
Some of us see it as an excuse to take a break from work and be grateful.
Some of us see it as just any other day.
Many of us see it as the celebration of the birth of a man who lived a really long time ago.
Was this dude just a dude, or was he the Messiah?
I have no idea.
Truthfully, I’m not even really worried about it.
What I do think is important, though, is his message, which I find to be good advice coming from anybody.
- Feed the hungry.
- Help the poor.
- Love your neighbor.
For me, Christmas is always a gut-check.
A call to action.
Am I living my life solely to improve my own circumstances, procreate, and die?
Or am I living my life in a way that contributes to and enriches the lives of others?
There’s more to health than protein, carbs, fats, sets, and reps…
