Getting started on any new endeavor can be a challenge.
Making changes to eating habits.
Starting a new training routine.
Picking up a new hobby.
Learning a new skill.
It’s often tough figuring out how to even get started.
There’s just so much information out there.
So many different ways to reach the same goal.
This can be a nightmare for those of us who love details.
Those of us who dig into anything and everything we can learn.
Those of us with a tendency towards perfectionism.
We make things way harder on ourselves than they need to be,
We want to do everything just right.
We want to cover all of our bases.
So we make elaborate plans.
We incorporate all the details.
We make sure every single aspect of what we want to do is taken into account.
We try to juggle our new plans with everything else going on in our lives.
With this approach, though, we don’t even get started.
We procrastinate because there’s too much involved.
At times like these, there’s a different approach we can take.
Consider asking, “how can I make this easier?”
That may mean putting in more time to learn.
It may mean doing less for now.
Letting go of other efforts.
Perhaps slowing down.
Difficult can come later.
For now, find easy.
You might want to jump all in.
To make things just right.
To start seeing results ASAP.
That’s all okay.
Be cautious not to let these desires keep you from getting started.
From making progress.
From creating a most excellent life.
Make it easier on yourself.
You are worthy of that.
You’ve got this.
