It’s no secret that we can let ourselves go at times.
We stop doing the things that keep us healthy and happy.
Or we never did them in the first place.
This might have been deliberate.
We might have known we were dropping the ball.
Perhaps we had no clue.
A total surprise.
Regardless, this often comes with a wake up call.
When we realize that we’ve fallen a bit behind.
We realize that we have a ton of ground to make up.
How did we get so far behind?
How will we ever get to where we’d like to be?
We don’t even want to start.
The amount of work to get from “behind” to “caught up” is certainly a lot.
We could attack it with intensity.
That would make it happen quickly.
We could go “all in” and reach our goals.
But that might not solve the problem.
The problem was our habits.
If we see the steps we take only as means to an end, we’ll be right back where we started.
So what if we started small?
What if we built the habits that would have prevented this situation in the first place?
Putting in the daily, boring work.
Brushing your hair.
Whatever you do to take care of you.
The steps you take to make your life awesome.
Just a little bit, each and every day, might keep you from ever needing that much in the first place.
Sure, it would have been ideal if we’d started these things years ago.
Sure, this will take longer than if we make an all-out effort.
But this will also last longer.
And years from now, this will be the norm.
And we’ll never feel behind.
Like we have to play “catch up”.
We’ll just maintain.
By putting in the daily work.
Just a little bit.
Each and every day.
What can you do today to put in the work?
You’ve got this.
