One reason we put things off is because we wait for things to be just right.
Until all of our circumstances are perfect.
When we have everything we need to have.
Know everything we need to know.
Everything is just right.
So we keep waiting.
Just a bit longer.
We keep waiting for the “ideal” time to act.
Yet we don’t live in the ideal.
We may never have everything we think we need to have.
Know everything we think we need to know.
Some might even say it’s impossible to do so.
But we can always act.
Even when things aren’t ideal.
There’s the ideal and there’s the actual.
Rarely do the two align.
Yet so often we ignore the actual, waiting for the ideal.
Waiting to take action.
To pursue our calling.
Live our best lives.
The actual is all we have.
The imperfect, messy, here and now.
So act.
Use what you have.
Learn as you go.
If you screw up.
If you fail.
If you miss your target.
Assess.
Adjust.
Try again.
You’re still ahead of where you were.
Ahead of where you’d be if you’d kept waiting.
That’s progress.
Don’t put life off for the ideal.
You may never find it.
You will always live in the actual.
So live in the actual.
You’ve got this.
