Do you ever get annoyed?
When something just gets under your skin?
Things other people say.
Things other people do.
Some things get to some of us.
Other things get to others of us.
We all have our things that get to us.
Rare is the person who just doesn’t get annoyed, upset, or worked up.
Yet how we handle such situations is up to us.
You can’t affect what happens to you.
You can affect how you respond to what happens.
Your buttons will be pushed.
Keep in mind, though.
They’re your buttons.
Do you have to get upset?
Get worked up?
Is there anything you can actually do about it?
If so, what’s keeping you from doing it?
If not, why dwell or ruminate?
Emotions can signal that something isn’t right.
That action is necessary.
That something needs to change.
That your circumstances aren’t how you’d like them to be.
But beyond that, the encouragement of action, what purpose do they serve?
Particularly if they encourage action without intention?
Rather than react, receive.
Receive the signal, then let it go.
It might take time.
Some emotions take time to process.
Sometimes knowing what to do with them isn’t clear.
It takes a while to figure what, if anything, to do.
So work toward figuring that out.
Then let it go.
Life is way too short to spend it with buttons pushed.
You deserve better than that.
You are worthy of better than that.
You’ve got this.
