You won’t always achieve the goal.
You won’t always make it happen.
You will fall short.
You know this is true, but you probably still struggle with it.
You beat yourself up when your labors don’t yield the fruit you’d hoped.
You blame yourself.
See yourself as less than.
And you ruminate over these thoughts and feelings.
Eventually, you just quit.
You avoid aiming “too high”.
Thinking that if you never try, you’ll never be disappointed.
If you keep your sights low, you’ll never let yourself down.
So you live a stagnant life.
One in which, sure, you’re never disappointed.
But also one in which you never taste victory.
The satisfaction of overcoming a challenge.
Of looking back and saying, “I did better than yesterday.”
Of saying, “I’m no longer who I was”
“I’m pleased with who I’ve become.”
“I’m headed toward the life I deserve.”
When you fail.
Not if, but when.
You will be faced with a decision.
You can say, “I suck”.
“I’m not enough.”
Or, you can embrace the opportunity.
To say, “I can improve.”
“I’ll figure this out.”
“I don’t have this yet, but I will.”
You are worthy of the best life.
A life with wins.
A life with losses.
With moments when you feel like you’re not capable.
You might not be.
But you can be.
If you pick yourself up.
Dust yourself off.
And put in the work.
You aren’t perfect.
You never will be perfect.
But you can always be better.
You can always be more.
You’ve got this.
