Have you ever felt like you’re not doing well?
Like you’re not making progress?
Like you’re not moving towards your goals?
This happens, and it sucks.
The good news is there are steps you can take to get out of this kind of funk.
First ask yourself why you might be feeling this way.
Take a good look at objective measures of the changes you’re hoping to see.
If you’re not tracking your progress, that may be your next step, especially for times of self-doubt such as this.
If you are tracking your progress and you determine that you actually aren’t headed in the right direction, ask yourself why.
Is it your strategy?
Is it your consistency?
Is there anything you can do about it?
If so, do it.
If, on the other hand, you see no objective reason for what you’re feeling, dig a little deeper.
If you don’t already have a regular mindfulness practice like meditation, establishing one may help tremendously with this kind of self-exploration.
What’s at the root of these thoughts and feelings?
Was it something you heard somebody say?
Was it something that you read?
What triggered what you’re experiencing?
You may find that there is no good reason at all.
You may just be having one of those days.
You may just be getting discouraged.
You may just be getting inside your own head.
Regardless of what steps you choose to take, don’t beat yourself up.
That won’t get you anywhere.
You won’t always feel like you’re making progress.
You won’t always feel like you’re consistent.
You might even be right.
Maybe you actually are stagnant.
Maybe you actually are inconsistent.
Switch things up if you need to.
Just don’t quit.
You are so worthy of the best life.
That won’t come easy.
It will take effort.
You will doubt yourself along the way.
You’ll get there, though.
You’ve got this.
