Our bodies change over time.
Sometimes, we see this as a good thing.
We might lose some extra fat.
Build some strength.
Improve other health markers.
Other times, we might see this as a bad thing.
We might gain some extra fat.
See our health decline.
Such changes might happen over a period of years.
Or they might happen in only weeks or months.
When we see changes we don’t like, we might start thinking about how things used to be.
How we used to look.
How we used to feel.
How we used to perform.
We start thinking about how we want to get our bodies back.
As if the body we have now is somehow different from our body years ago.
We view them as separate bodies.
That’s not how our bodies work.
You’ll never get your body “back”.
You might not look, feel, or perform how used to.
But you never “lost” your body.
It’s been there all along.
It’s the only one you’ve ever had.
The only one you’ll ever have.
Are you living like you love it?
Or living like you hate it?
Change that lasts comes from self-love.
Recognizing that you are worthy.
Worthy of a most excellent life.
One in which you treat yourself the way you deserve.
One in which you treat your body the way it deserves.
For no reason other than that you are awesome.
Fully, completely, awesome.
As you are.
There’s nothing to “get back”.
You already have it.
You’ve got this.
