Have you ever set out to make an improvement but not known where to start?
You want to lose weight, but have never really paid attention to your eating habits.
You want to get stronger, but know nothing about lifting weights.
You want to improve your energy and focus, but don’t even know what factors are at play.
We have no idea what to do, so we do nothing.
Causes you to freeze.
Fortunately, in times like these, we have at least one ridiculously powerful tool at our disposal.
Other people who have been in the same – or at least similar – situation we’re in.
We can look to them for examples of how we might solve our problem.
This is especially true now that we have access to billions of people through various online video platforms, podcasts, search engines, and social media.
We have an ability to seek out, connect with, and learn from others’ examples unlike any we’ve ever had in the past.
We are no longer limited to books in a library.
Or the newspaper.
Or professionals in our proximity.
Keep this in mind the next time you are about to give up because you don’t know exactly what to do right off the top of your head.
You are unique but your circumstances likely aren’t.
When facing a seemingly insurmountable task, consider the following questions.
Has anybody else faced this problem?
Did any of them solve it?
If so, how can I repeat what they did?
If not, what else can I try?
Do what you can.
If it works, great.
If not, repeat the process.
Try something else.
Of course, there are problems that we, collectively, simply haven’t solved.
That’s a subject for another time.
For now, look to others for examples of how you might create your best life.
You’re worthy of that.
You’ve got this.
